How do I get an appointment at the Asthma Education Centre?
You must have a physician refer you to the Centre. Once we have received the referral from your doctor we will contact you to set up an appointment.

What will be involved in the appointment?
You will spend from 60 - 90 minutes at each visit. If you are 6 years of age or older you will have a breathing test done, which measures your lung capacity. You will see a Nurse and a Respiratory Therapist. They will teach you all about your medication, work with you to help determine your triggers and ways in which you can avoid or manage them, and will teach you to recognize early and late warning signs of worsening asthma. The Asthma Centre team works closely with your family doctor to develop a plan of action to assist you in managing a flare up.

Where is the Asthma Education Centre located?
We are located in Charlottetown's Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Unit 6, Room 639.
